The perfect wrestling show for any comic convention, which is where they usually end up performing, where else would you be able to see your favourite comic, TV and film heroes and villains take each other on in epic battles.

Even some of wrestling’s biggest stars have appeared on the show, such as Brian Cage as Bane and Ruby Soho once turning up as Catwoman.

Based in LA, Lucha VaVoom is a brilliant mix of burlesque, comedy and Lucha Libre wrestling. For our UK-based readers, think a crazy mix of Pro Wrestling: EVE and Lucha Britannia.

The performances put on are definitely out there but the promotion is a lot of fun and you definitely won’t leave bored.

Stars like Frankie Monet, Penta and Fenix have all appeared at the promotion, so it’s used to drawing big names.

From the mind of Brian Kendrick comes a promotion with possibly the greatest name of any company on this list.

A look at any one of their event posters will show you what WPW is all about - it’s cheesy, ridiculous fun that looks like something straight out of the 1980s.

Like pirates? They had a show recently with a very pirate theme and it looks fire.

On the face of it the Japanese promotion may seem fairly normal, but the bizarreness begins when you remember it also goes by the name ChocoPro.

What makes the company unique? Well there’s no wrestling ring. Instead matches are held on a small square-shaped mat on the floor.

Want to know more about how odd Chocopro is? Ask Chris Brookes, he’s out in Japan right now and putting on some bonkers matches at the promotion.

Paying homage to wrestling’s traditional carnival roots, Freakshow incorporates not only the physical entertainment but also magic, illusion and stunts.

With a good reputation they’ve even managed to book weird matches involving huge stars. Case and point, the man now known as Johnny Drip Drip once took on Cereal Man at Freakshow Wrestling.

One of the few shows on this list that has held events not only in America but all over the world - often working with other promotions.

With a whole host of exclusive characters, such as American Beetle and the evil Dr Cube, they take place in epic battles in the ring and showcase a host of young up and coming stars.

It’s tough to explain how mental a Kaiju show is so you’ll just have to go and check them out.
