Pro Wrestling EVE: Brawl at the Brewery
Signature Brew, London

Reviewer: Millie Carden (@Lovatic5HDores7)

Full disclosure, I am writing this review as someone who is in the USA and watches all the shows as a member of EVE’s Youtube Channel.

Night two of Pro Wrestling EVE’s weekender stream for International Women’s Day starts off with being able to hear Erin Angel’s theme “Bring It All Back” by S Club 7 for one minute and 43 seconds (which is fitting because how can you not love that song), signalling the end of the dark match between Wrestle Friends (Jetta and Erin Angel) and The Medusa Complex (Emilia McKenzie and Charli Evans).

I was low key sad to have missed this match, but I’m sure it was absolutely great as all four of the competitors are amazing in their own right.

The first thing you see on the stream is our wonderful Host for the EVEning (great pun) Lolo Brow, giving an introduction and making sure everyone in attendance knows the rules and behaves themselves.

She welcomes Referee Lauren to the ring for the first contest…

Ivy vs Alex Windsor - Queen of the Carnival Championship

Credit: Pro Wrestling EVE

This match is happening on EVE because Wrestle Carnival had to cancel their show at the last minute and the owners of both companies agreed to have it on this show.

Since both women were already scheduled for the show it is also a SHE-1 Series Qualifier.

The first contestant to enter the ring is the challenger “The Queen Of Monsters” Ivy with baseball bat in tow as she backs Lolo into a corner and takes the mic immediately; threatening the crowd and complaining about how she was robbed of a win on her debut against Lana Austin because Lana’s foot was under the ropes.

Next up we have the Queen Of The Carnival Champion herself, the “Iron-Willed” Alex Windsor enters the ring to raoring chants from the EVE Faithful.

We are instantly off to a hot start as Ivy gives a forearm to Alex, takes out the legs and goes for a full Boston Crab submission, which would be attempted many times throughout the contest by both competitors.

Alex quickly gets the upper hand with a fury of moves and multiple pinfall attempts. After a high speed, consistent back and forth by each competitor the finish comes when IVY counters an attempt of the Blue Thunder Bomb by Alex into a small package.

Alex then counters into a rollup of her own for the win. Alex Windsor is still your Queen Of The Carnival to which Ivy is not a happy camper.

Alexxis Falcon vs Lana Austin - EVE International Championship Number One Contender Match

The first contestant to enter the ring is Alexxis Falcon who, on a side note, has one of the coolest themes ever. Your second competitor is Lana Austin and both of these ladies get quite the reaction from the crowd.

The contest starts with a strong collar and elbow lock up which backs Falcon into the corner but she gives Lana a boot to the gut.

There were some truly BRUTAL blows between these two! The finish comes when Lana clearly has the upper hand, but then Ivy causes a distraction and gets revenge on Lana from being screwed over on a previous show.

That gives Falcon the chance to hit the Falcon’s Fury DDT and get the win. Falcon celebrates her win by dancing to her theme and flipping everyone off as she does.

Lizzy Evo vs Charlie Morgan

Next up we have your first half main event. First to the ring making her Brewery debut and second ever match for EVE it’s Lizzy Evo. Her opponent is none other than the Ace of EVE herself “Fearless” Charlie Morgan, who is fresh off qualifying for the SHE-1 Series which she is the first ever winner of.

Let me tell you this was a BATTLE!

Once Lizzy decided she actually wanted to wrestle, after hanging out on the top turnbuckle pad and jaw jacking with Charlie, she thought it was smart to smack Charlie right in the face and well…she quickly ate two lariats and an Enzuigiri courtesy of Charlie.

Lizzy goes to the outside and quickly stops Charlie from diving to the outside, followed by some knees to the chest while Charlie is caught in the ropes.

Lizzy works her way back into the ring and proceeds to continue kicking Charlie while she down. Lizzy decides to show off towards the fans which ended up getting her repeatedly put in the surfboard while just screaming to be put down. Which I found particularly funny.

The finish comes after Charlie Super Kicks Lizzy in the face and goes for a Swanton Bomb but she misses and swiftly eats a hard knee from Lizzy who gets the quick pin.

After celebrating on the top turnbuckle Lizzy leaves the ring and you see a defeated and frustrated Charlie slowly get to a knee while the crowd surrounds her with cheers to which she points around and says “I love you guys”. She rolls out of the ring holding her jaw in pain.

The second half of this incredible show starts with about three and a half minutes of no picture while hearing Lolo calling people out for breaking rules, like live streaming the show and watching the show through their phones instead of enjoying seeing it in person.

The picture finally comes back and it’s time for the first match of the second half...

Amira Blair vs Chantal Jordan

Referee Rob aka Head Drop enters the ring and Lolo introduces the match in which the audio just briefly drops. The first to enter the ring is the “Pretty Psycho” known as Amira Blair who impatiently shouts for her opponent to enter the ring.

That opponent being “The Bad Girl” Chantel Jordan. Amira talks crap to the crowd and then swiftly gets a fury of forearms, uppercuts, running knees and a basement dropkick from Jordan.

Amira gets payback by hanging Chantel in the tree of woe and giving her some hard kicks to the midsection and a basement dropkick of her own.

The match comes to an abrupt end when Chantel gives Amira a swift kick to the back of the head and pins her for the 1,2,3.

Alex Windsor vs Max the Impaler

The next match we see the return of Alex Windsor and if you’ve kept up this far, firstly thank you, but also you’ll notice this is Windsor’s second match of the night and third match within 24 hours.

They don’t call her Iron-Willed for nothing and boy does the following match prove it! Her opponent… the “Non-Binary Nightmare” Max.

The story that was told in this match of always keep fighting no matter how big the obstacle was absolutely brilliant and beautiful! No matter how many times Alex would get beat down she found a way to fight back, even lifting Max into a Fall Away Slam and dropping them into a Coast to Coast.

She would ultimately lose when Max gave her a nasty back breaker and pinned her for the win.

After the match, Alex grabs the mic and talks about how, despite all the Championships and success she has found in other companies, things are just not consistent within EVE.

Alex then calls Charlie Morgan out to the ring because they both have been having similar rocky journeys within EVE. Alex reiterates how things haven’t worked individually for them but that maaaybe as a tag team they could “take this ship by storm”. They are best friends after all!

You can see Charlie pondering upon the idea a bit. She then tells Alex that she thinks she’s found someone just as fearless as her. She then proceeds to challenge whoever is the Tag Team Champions by the end of the night. Who else is as excited as I am to see these best friends as a tag team?

Hyan vs Laura Di Matteo

The Penultimate match is next and dare I say it gets my vote for match of the night! First up is “The Renaissance Woman” from Houston, Texas Hyan. Her opponent is the EVE International Champion and an EVE Faithful favourite, Laura Di Matteo.

This match was a beautifully executed, fast paced contest! Some of my favourite moments include when Hyan was so proud of chopping poor Laura so hard she did a happy dance.

Hyan would very quickly learn that you don’t make LDM angry or you get that Italian fire and will not be staying on your feet for very long.

After numerous close pinfalls and chops later, the pinfall comes when Hyan slams Laura to the mat into a jack knife cover and Laura kicks out, While Hyan is furiously shouting at ref Laura, LDM gets her into her submission and makes her tap.

The Uprising ( Rhia O’Reilly and Skye Smitson) vs The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) - Two Out Of Three Falls, EVE Tag Team Championships

Credit: Pro Wrestling EVE

First to the ring are your challengers, half of The Uprising, the female Loki of EVE Rhia O’Reilly and her lacky, I MEAN TAG PARTNER, “The Villainess” Skye Smitson.

Your EVE Tag Team champions AND NWA Women’s Tag Team champions The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) make their way to the ring ready for a battle and that they will get.

After a lot of hilarious banter that included Marti telling Rhia “You’re not from here”, Skye flexing as she always does *rolls eyes*, AK knowing her angles and Rhia just being angry.

Before the bell rings Skye pulls Marti off the apron then tries to attack AK with the belt but she ducks and Rhia kicks her in the gut and hits the Rhiajustment for the first pinfall.

Somewhere in there the bell actually rings so the fall counts.

Rhia then informs The Hex of the Spirit of EVE rule and absolute chaos happens. Marti ends up taking most of the heat during the match.

All four women soon make their way throughout the crowd and end up in the bar where AK and Marti take a shot together before going back to beating on Smitson and Rhia.

They all finally make their way back to the ring and Smitson decides she wants to dive off the top turnbuckle, nearly crashing and burning to the ground.

They all actually make it back into the ring and the steel chairs have now entered the chat and things are about to go from bad to worse, with AK eating a chair to the face and Marti a chair to the back.

The Uprising try to keep the moment going by surrounding The Hex, but they get outsmarted when AK and Marti duck and they end up taking each other out.

The Hex then up take out Rhia with a 3D and AK gets the pinfall. We are now tied at one fall each.

The final pinfall comes when Smitson low blow’s AK while Ref Lauren is distracted, checking on a down Rhia. Smitson then drops AK with the Smitson Effect and gets the win with Marti Belle coming in a split second too late to save the match.

Your new and now two time EVE Tag Team Champions are The Uprising.

This was easily one of the best shows EVE has ever put on! From start to finish was just absolutely incredible work done by all and I could not be more proud of every single person involved!

I can not wait to watch the next shows and I will continue to cheer and boo as if I’m there live and in person, even being thousands of miles away in the states!

Pro Wrestling EVE and everyone there are truly something special no matter where you tune in from.
