BritWres Stars As Gladiators

WE ALL remember Gladiators, right? The hit TV show from the 90s that show average Joe’s compete against professionally trained athletes to prove their strength across a number of tasks.

It was at the forefront of so many upbringings and was just an overall cracking TV show.

The inspiration for this article was given to us by John Kirby from Wrestling Resurgence. He’s given us his blessing to write this piece - so we hope we do it justice!

So without any more introduction, these are the BritWres stars we’d love to see in Gladiators…

Jetta

We start with a pretty obvious one - and one that works well due to the fact that one of the original competitors on the series was called Jet.

Like Jet, Jetta (or Jeeta if you prefer) is a fan favourite and is a mainstay of the BritWres scene. She’d give anyone coming up against her a tough battle.

Best event: The Pyramid

Adam Maxted

I mean everything about Maxted’s look just screams Gladiators, right? You wouldn’t want to come up against him in and of the strength competitions.

Best event: Hang Tough - the perfect event for his upper body strength

Molly Spartan

The Scottish star would provide a good test of strength for competitors that came up against her and we think she’d particularly thrive in the test of strength events.

Best Event: Powerball - by her own admission on Twitter…

Shreddybrek

We’d just love to see the look of fear on a contestant’s face when they come up against the Jacked, Stacked Daddy. While we can’t think of an event he’d be bad at, we reckon the battles atop the podium would be his strongest suit.

Best event: Duel - imagine him whacking you with one of those oversized ear buds!

Clementine

The zesty fighter would definitely bring a flare for the theatrical to proceedings. Maybe some fancy dress and a Dungeons and Dragons theme to her character would cause a stir.

Best event: The Joust - I mean, obviously, right?

Tyler Devlin

One of the most extreme stars in BritWres would be terrifying to go up against, especially in the one-on-one battles. Something where he could stare into his competitors eyes and put the fear of God into them.

Best event: Breakthrough and Conquer - It would be a challenge for anyone to conquer Devlin.

Ivy

The Queen of Monsters would be the Wolf of this version of Gladiators - the one that everybody fears and is just insane. Seeing her with her baseball bat coming at you would be tricky to overcome.

Best event: Earthquake - we hope Ivy has good balance or we’ve chosen poorly here

Visage

The Queen of Queens would certainly add some glam to proceedings as well as a brilliant flare for the dramatic. But don’t underestimate them because they’ll knock your block off.

Best event: Atlaspheres - the mix of racing and rugby would go down a treat

Mad Kurt

Okay Kurt is tough and he certainly knows how to get the win in tough situations, but we’d also really enjoy seeing him getting beaten up.

Best event: Skytrak - Kurt’s pace would help him here, but he best not wear the cape or it might get caught
