Ranking Every ICW Women’s Champion
ICW are in the process of crowning a new women’s champion, courtesy of a tournament with some frankly epic competitors.
In honour of a new soon-to-be-crowned champ we’re taking a look back at every other ICW Women’s Champion and ranking them on their title reigns.
Note: We’re ranking these champions purely on their title reigns and not their other work in the company. We should also say that all these competitors are amazing in their own right and we love them all!
6. Session Moth Martina
When Session Moth Martina beat Kasey at Square Go! 2018, people were excited at the prospect of seeing the long-time favourite have a strong run with the belt.
Those hopes were ended just a day later at Fight Club 83 when she lost the belt to Viper…oh, what might have been.
5. Aivil
Much like with Martina, a huge pop greeted her when she beat Kasey to claim the ICW title for the first time. She defeated Isla Dawn in her only defence of the belt, before having to relinquish it due to injury.
Both Aivil and the ICW fans shed a tear as she gave up the title, but we can’t wait until the day she returns to win it back!
4. Kasey Owens
The first of two three-time champions on this list. The Mother of Chaos claimed the belt on a trio of occasions. All three times she defeated fierce rival Kay Lee Ray for the title.
However she only held the belt for a total of ten months (268 days) in total and while she had some amazing matches she needed some longer runs to place higher on this list.
3. Viper
A two-time champion, Viper (now known to wrestling fans as Doudrop) was the first person to ever hold the ICW women’s title back in 2015. That run lasted just show of 50 days before she dropped the title to Carmel.
The second run was a lot more impressive, lasting ten months with cracking defences against the likes of Toni Storm and Sammii Jayne (now Emersyn Jayne).
2. Carmel Jacob
One reign, ten months, eight solid defences - including a three way, four way and last woman standing match! That LWS vs the then Sammii Jayne was an absolute belter.
Despite only having one reign, compared to multiple from Viper and Kasey, Carmel earns second place on this list as she’s still the holder of the record for the longest single title reign in the history of the ICW Women’s Championship at 322 days.
1. Kay Lee Ray
Like Kasey, Kay Lee Ray has held the ICW Women’s title on three separate occasions. Her first reign and last reign went eight and seven months respectively. And while her third reign only lasted one month that still puts her total days with the belt at 516.
Each time she lost the belt to epic rival Kasey, but she takes top spot on this list as the person to hold the belt the longest, put in some spectacular title defences and who helped elevate everyone she faced for the strap.
