Clearly this is a passion project for all involved with the set up wanting to entertain their family and friends whilst also attracting BritWres fans with a mix of local Harwich talent and British wrestling mainstays such as Charles Crowley and Clementine.

Children were front and foremost and the Jurassic theme was topped with inflatable T-Rex dinosaurs, Dino masks and with vines in the doorway and around the ring posts.

Unfortunately, a debut Brit wres show is not complete without issues and Warren Banks (one of my personal faves) and Evie Madden were unavailable due to illness. This did not however affect the overall show and everybody in attendance were exceptionally entertained.

Alex Ecco and Ben Jones (The Lads) vs Ruthless Forest Haze and Rogan w/ Brad Habits (The Pack)

Hosting duties went to The Lads comprised of Alex Ecco and Ben Jones and what a great job they did whipping up the crowd for the fun to come.

Both in gear they wanted to wrestle and their wish came to fruition when the faction of The Pack came out and interrupted. The Pack of Rogan and Brad Habits led by Forest Haze with Mr Buggles came to fight and we got our first match with Haze and Rogan against The Lads with Habits on the outside.

A fun match with The Pack bullying Ecco and cutting off the ring was topped off with Haze stalking and squawking like a Velociraptor overdosed on E numbers. Jones gets the hot tag clearing the ring before both of The Lads were given piledrivers on the ring skirts. Habits then distracts the ref whilst Rogan low blows Ecco and Haze then gets the pin. Very entertaining match setting up The Pack as the ‘big bads’ for the promotion.

Nino Bryant vs Xander

I’ve thought for a long time that Nino, given a couple of years, would be one of the best this country has to offer and he continued his awesome Purpose Wrestling run in the match of the day. With good mat-based wrestling teamed with a beautiful Pele kick and impressive head scissors Nino gave Xander a run for his money.

Xander was a joy to watch. Charismatic, vocal and with swagger he really lives up to his moniker of Goth Daddy. He performed a coast to coast which made the audience gasp, a beaut of a lung blower and was also great at selling the offence of Nino. Xander eventually got the pin but both men ended with mutual, respectful handshakes and hugs. A very, very good match.

Corey McRae vs Dover Court Dragon

Good match with McRae clearly being the heel taunting the crowd and mugging off Dragon. Looked like McRae has been trained in kickboxing and or Muay Thai with some great kicks including a nice spinning back kick.

Dragon comes back with a beauty of a tombstone piledriver, flipping McRae up to catch him before dropping him down but McRae kicks out at 2.999. The end comes with McRae performing a lovely looking jumping package pile driver. Very solid, hard hitting match.

Nick Payne vs CJ Carter

Both were up for it and I cannot praise CJ enough as he continues to improve every time I see him with no wasted movement. I had not seen Payne before but he did well and was great at selling CJ’s offence.

The end was quick but I think it was a back cracker from CJ followed up by a lung blower from the second rope before a falcon arrow for the 3 (forgive me if I am wrong). Both are respectful at the end before *SPEAR* and Payne attacks CJ leaving him lying. A heel turn by a sore loser in Payne which will likely inform future shows.

Charles Crowley and Clementine (BDSM) vs Tommy Kyle and Smashing Mike

Mike came in for the sick Evie Madden and did a sterling job, one to watch out for. Tommy Kyle has a great look and was very good in the ring. This was fun yet still hard-hitting with one of my favourite moments being Clementine hulking up, slamming both of her opponents before grabbing Crowley and slamming him on top.

BDSM are becoming a great partnership and look really polished in their ring work along with their affable characters. The finish was Crowley holding Mike and Clementine assisting with what appeared to be an Indietaker. The Lads congratulated BDSM and asked for a match for the next Jurassic show. BDSM agree and it is set: The Lads vs BDSM on December 12th.

Dexter vs Hustle Malone

Main event time and The Protagonist Hustle Malone enters first, scaring the children in attendance with leering at them whilst stalking around the ring. Dexter enters like the white hot babyface whipping up the crowd, especially the children in attendance who were chanting his name from the get go.

Malone was aggressive and manic from the offset but Dexter was much quicker and dynamic with two quick top rope cross bodies in succession. Malone manages to pull the ref in the way where the ref takes a bump and goes to the mat.

What comes next was a frantic series on runs ins with McRae attacking Dexter proclaiming that he should have been the main event, Crowley with the save, Kyle attacks and Clementine takes him out, Smashing Mike attacks Clementine, The Lads make the save and a wild brawl then goes out on to the floor.

The kids are loving the fast-paced action which is topped with Dexter diving on everyone wiping them all out. The ref wakes up for Dexter to perform a spike DDT to Malone and take the win.

My hat goes off to the Harwich based wrestling friends who have made this happen, giving themselves another platform to perform and hone their skills whilst also performing for DOA, Ignite and other such promotions. It is shows like this where the big stars start and anyone who loves wrestling, that can make their shows should go and support the smaller independent promotions.
