The Traitors: Indie wrestling edition

The world is absolutely buzzing about hit TV show The Traitors at the moment. Set in Scotland in a mega castle, the show sees contestants compete to try and win a huge cash prize. But hidden among the contestants are three ‘Traitors’, whose job is to sabotage the rest and ensure nobody walks away with the money except them.

It has spawned remakes in other countries across the world, but what if we took some of the finest wrestlers on the indie scene and put them up in the castle instead?

Well, that’s just what we’ve done. Myself and wonderful Traitors super fan Ella Jay, of A Wrestling Gal and WrestleZone fame, have taken a look at who we think would best be suited for the show. Ella has chosen female contestants, I’ve chosen males.

So who would win? Let’s take a look at the contestants;

Kasey Owens

The Mother of Chaos would be perfectly suited for the Traitors, specifically to a Traitor role. The Traitors’ pride themselves on causing chaos amongst the faithfuls while also plotting to murder (not literally) them. With a nickname like The Mother Of Chaos, Kasey Owens is a natural fit.

Coming in as a pairing, TK and Mambo could easily splinter off if needed. They’d add a huge amount of fun to the show with their wild antics. This in turn would make them seem like obvious Faithfuls…but could that be what convinces the others that they are really Traitors?

Amira

An entertaining, unfiltered character that’s simply made for reality TV. Also, her versatile fashion sense is perfect for the setting of a castle. She’d get into full character, both personality and presentation wise.

Ricky South

Joining the contest from Australia, Ricky is a natural Traitor, a very clear bad guy but with the charisma and promo ability to definitely trick more than a few others into believing he’s a Faithful right until the very end.

Jayde

Kinda like Kasey, her nickname ‘The Poison Princess’ indicates that she can be cunning and mercilessly “murder” (or hand a poison chalice to) the faithfuls.

Man Like Dereiss

The newly crowned king of the Meal Deal would definitely get the party started, we’re talking nightly DJ sets and music playing well into the early hours. He’s a solid Faithful and the one I’d probably tip to win, he’d be able to use his Meal Deal judging skills to tell who was a Traitor and who wasn’t based on the food they eat.

Saraya Saber

A loyal viewer of Survivor, another reality game show. I feel like after watching Survivor, she’d have a solid strategy to guide her as either a Faithful or a Traitor.

Joey Janela

The Bad Boy of wrestling would spend most of the time walking around in his signature coats, turning heads I’m sure. But with his glasses always on it would be impossible to look into his eyes to try and figure him out.

Kaia McKenna

The Traitors has repeatedly cast a clairvoyant/witchy character, so who better than The Good Witch of wrestling. I feel like Kaia could read people’s energies well and prove be a helpful Faithful.

Charles Crowley

If anyone would love the witchy vibes of Kaia it’s Crowley, he’d add some bonkers extras to the scene for sure and his monkey companion would be the pefect foil to make the other contestants question everything about him.

Anita Vaughan

A current PhD student. Obviously smart. Associated with a “woke queen,” so might be more inclined to be more perceptive and also approach things with more logic.
