What Olympic sports would Indie wrestlers be best at

The Olympics are under way in Paris, with some of the greatest athletes in the world compete to take home the gold for their countries. They’ve spent years honing their craft and now is their time to shine!

But what if they were up against some of the finest talents in all of indie wrestling?

Let’s take a look at some of our favourite indie wrestlers and check out what 2024 Olympic sports they would best suit.

Gymnastics - Leon Slater

Come on, this one would be brilliant wouldn’t it! I can’t help but think the floor routine would be Leon’s biggest strength, especially given his ability to get serious air time from a floor start. But we’d also love to see him on the bars and balance beam to see how he gets on.

Breaking - Millie McKenzie

Breaking, or break dancing, is a new sport for Paris 2024 and for this we’d have to enlist the best dancer in indie wrestling…Millie McKenzie. Anyone who has seen Millie wrestle has no doubt seen her bust some serious moves in the ring, and we think the world deserves to see them.

Taekwondo - Janai Kai

With her epic kicks and strikes, it would be a pleasure to watch Janai Kai try her hand at Taekwondo in the Olympics. She’s terrifying in the ring and we can bet that more than a few of her opponents would be anxious about coming up against her.

Fencing - Nico Angelo

I mean Nico is the only wrestler I can think of who has taken an actual sword to the ring! Yes, it’s a different sword but I imagine the skills must be transferable.

Wrestling - Skye Smitson

Okay, someone had to take up the mantle and be the person representing Team Indie Wrestling at the Olympics in the ‘amateur’ version of the sport. We’ve chosen Smitson because she has amazing technical ability, plus we’d just love to see her opponents’ reaction when she starts thrusting and gyrating her hips during the match.

Weightlifting - Levi Muir

Weightlifting requires a big, strong boi and so we just had to go for the absolutely jacked and stacked Levi Muir. He’d be a force to be reckoned with, it also means he could continue his rivalry with Roy Johnson because of his powerlifting background.

Climbing - Rayne Leverkusen

Rayne loves adventuring and the outdoors, she’d definitely be up for some rock climbing and we reckon she’d be top notch at it. She’s definitely agile enough, but she may have to ditch the leather jacket…

Canoeing - The M62 Wrecking Crew (Lizzy Evo, Alexxis Falcon, Rhio, Lucy Sky)

The ultimate group of northern powerhouses, there are only a few sports I could think of where we could put all four of these awesome women in together, but this one would absolutely be the most entertaining to watch. Let’s hope they don’t capsize before the finish.

Beach Volleyball - Bussy (Effy and Allie Katch)

When it comes to entertainment in the sand this pair would surely be able to get the crowd well into their matches. I don’t know how good their volleyball skills are but their outfits would be sure to be absolutely outrageous.

Trampoline - CPF (Danny Black and Joe Lando)

These two high flyers would have ALL the skills needed to be able to pull off some epic aerial skills while on the trampoline as a tandem. As long as they don’t crash into each other they’ll be getting top marks.
