WE ALL know that PROGRESS Women’s Champion Lana Austin loves a singalong, she can’t get enough of it. We’ve all been subjected to more than enough Lanaoke in the last year.

But now a SHOCKING new piece of evidence has come to light that appears to confirm what we’ve all long since believed….Lana Austin doesn’t sing, all she does is lip sync.

Speaking exclusively to Grapple Theory, a source close to Lana has spoken of how PROGRESS’ top champ has never actually sung in her life.

The source, who asked to be known only as ‘The Experience’, said: “Lana likes to tell everyone she can sing, but she’s embarrassed by the fact she can’t.

“She’s tried, she’s taken classes, even gone under experimental procedures, all to try and give her the voice of an angel…or at least to the level of the person that sings the Friends theme song.

“But she’s never been able to really. It’s so sad. She just wants to be a pop star.”

When quizzed by us about why, if she lip syncs, she still doesn’t sound like she can sing that well, our source continued: “Yeah, we didn’t get that either to be honest. Maybe she didn’t want to appear like she was too good so people wouldn’t be suspicious.”

And if you’re wondering how this illusion actually goes down, well Skye Smit…..I mean, our source has revealed that too.

“There’s a singer backstage at all the shows. Unlike everything else in wrestling, the singing is all scripted. They sit down and decide when and what Lana is going to sing throughout the show.

“Then when Lana is about to sing we switch her mic off and make the mic backstage live. It’s all very elaborate. Sometimes we have to keep Lana in line and make sure she doesn’t sing spontaneously in the heat of the moment.”

Well, there you have it! Proof that Lana Austin isn’t the singer we all believed her to be. I wonder how Lee McAteer and the PROGRESS Team will take the news.
