PROGRESS Wrestling, Chapter 134: No Mountain High Enough
The Electric Ballroom, London

We are heading towards SSS16 and this show is the run up to the three day event in June.
Simon Miller opens up the show giving his usual introduction. Crowd was on fire and Simon got a few chants of his own.
Simon then directed us to the screens to see a video package of everything that went down at the last event.
We then moved on to another video package which was Skye Smitson and Alexxis Falcon which was a beautifully set up video.
Alexxis Falcon vs Skye Smitson - Tables Match
As Alexxis was making her entrance Skye was quick to beat her down and the match all started from there. This match was a great back and forth with Alexxis wanting to prove a point to Skye.
Skye received a few chants and even threw some water at some of the fans that were chanting things at her whilst beating Alexxis up. But Alexxis managed to get the upper hand and put Skye through the table for the win.
Back up on the screen after the match was an interview with Spike Trivet talking about Cara Noir. Spike thought that he vs Cara was going to be main eventing tonight’s show, but the interviewer had to tell Spike that he wasn’t main eventing as Cara had said he wasn’t good enough to main event the show.
Ricky Knight Jr vs Leon Slater
I personally was really looking forward to this match. Both RKJ and Leon got massive cheers from the crowd.
This match was great for all types of fans. The brutalising chops from RKJ, the fast paced action, it definitely kept the fans on the edge of the seats. It was a fast paced match and I personally would love to see this again in some form of a rematch.
RKJ picked up the win over Leon Slater and the fans gave a standing ovation. The 0121 came out with Jody Fleisch and helped up Leon which was lovely to see.
Raven Creed vs Max The Impaler w/ Lana Austin
Lana Austin came out and was followed by her muscle in the form of Max The Impaler. The match began and Raven managed to help start a ‘spooky bitch’ chant to Max.
Lana was ringside and up to usual antics by trying to distract the referee and get involved in the match. Odds were against Raven but she always seems able to capitalise on small opportunities, no matter what the circumstances may be.
Max was brutalising Raven for some of the match but Raven managed to find a way of fighting back.
Lana tried to interfere with the chair but Raven scared her off. Lana did end up managing to get in the ring but not for long as Max accidentally took her out. And whilst Max was distracted Raven rolled them up for three count.
Max then focused their attention onto a cowering Lana Austin who managed to get out of the ring and hide purely because Max chose to spare Lana.
Cara Noir vs Spike Trivet
This match got started very quickly and it was taken out of the ring and on to the stage pretty quickly. Cara got chopped on some chairs all the way to the back of the Electric Ballroom and Spike rolled back in the ring to start the ten count. We got all the way to a nine before Cara was able to roll back in the ring.
Spike spent a lot of time antagonising the crowd and getting many chants whilst beating up Cara. It looked like Cara was going to win as he had Spike in a submission hold but Spike took out the referee whilst he was in a submission hold by punching him.
New referee came out and also got thrown and attacked. The match ended in double disqualification due to both the referees getting hurt. They continued fighting and multiple ring crew members got taken out.
It got violent quite quickly. Chairs were thrown. Anyone who tried to intervene got taken down until finally Spike Trivet was forced to walk up to the entrance way. When he got there he cut a promo announcing an I Quit Match with the stipulation of Loser Leaves Progress, which is happening at SSS16.
Simon Miller quickly took us to interval. Coming back from interval Simon Miller hyped up the crowd and there were 2 announcements for SSS16 Aramis and Robbie X. Fans really seemed to be happy with both announcements. We were then directed to the screens for an interview with So Cal Val and Gene Munny.
Maggot vs Bobby Gunns vs Axel Tischer vs Jurn Simmons
I was very excited for this match as I got to see and find out more about the XWX wrestlers. As soon as the match began chaos both Simmons and Axel went for pins in the match.
A mixture of everything you could want it to be. Hard hitting. Fast paced and chaotic. For me personally this was the match of the night.
Bobby picked up momentum when three other competitors were in corners taking one out at a time. High flying as well. Axel picked apart all three of the competitors using different ways. I believe this match has something for everyone.
Maggot tried to pin everyone but they kicked out but eventually Maggot eventually managed to pin Jurn Simmons and took his place in the SSS16.
Kanji came out and did a promo and she announces that she is cashing in her number one contender-ship at SSS16 2/3 falls match for women’s championship which means it will be Kanji vs Gisele.
Luke Jacobs vs Roy Johnson - PROGRESS Wrestling Atlas Championship
We were then directed to the screen to watch Atlas Championship promo video and after that it was time for the match.
Very early on in the match Luke sent Roy to outside and it wasn’t long before Roy sent Luke crashing into some chairs.
Hard hitting action from the second the match started. The action got back into the ring for a little bit before Roy rolled out and Luke followed picking him up and sent Roy crashing through some more chairs.
Quickly rolling back into the ring Roy follows and Luke is able to retain the championship. And still! Progress Atlas Champion Luke Jacobs.
Axel came out after the match and challenged Luke to a match at SSS16 for the Progress Atlas Championship to which the fans chanted yes. Luke accepted the challenge.
Smokin’ Aces (Nick Riley and Charlie Sterling) vs Sunshine Machine (Chuck Mambo and TK Cooper)
Show of respect before the match. TK Cooper and Charlie Sterling to kick it off. Got off to a pretty solid start. Quick and fast paced and ended in a standoff. They then tagged in partners.
Mambo sent Nick Riley crashing outside through some chairs. There were Mambo chants, Sunshine Machine chants. TK Cooper chants . Smokin Aces chants. These were all very loud throughout the whole match and the fans seem to be extremely supportive of Sunshine Machine.
Lots of chaos and eventually we go from four members in the ring back to normal tag match. Smokin’ Aces started to get the upper hand but the fans kept on cheering for TK.
Hot tag to Chuck Mambo. TK went to top ropes but as he was coming down got hit with a cutter.
Fans kept on the edge of the seats. All four wrestlers started taking shots and throwing forearms. Smokin’ Aces ended this with superkicks.
A swift headbutt to the face which then ended in a double pin. Smokin’ Aces and Sunshine Machine dispute this and they get a five minute extra from the referee to try and find a winner.
Lots of dives and high flying moves and then various pinning combinations for the count of one or two. No tag team managed to pick up the win. After 5 more minutes the result is still a draw.
0121 comes out and they all come to a decision. SSS16 triple threat ladder match for tag titles.
Gene Munny video package. All the video packages and interviews were executed beautifully throughout the day.
Jonathan Gresham w/ Lykos Gym vs Gene Munny
Gene got jumped during entrance and attacked three on one. The beatdown began and it continued for a short while before Simon made an announcement that If Gresham or any of Lykos Gym interfere when the bell rings he is stripped of the title.
There was a no shenanigans chant. Gresham sends Lykos Gym to the back. Lots of technical holds. Munny is desperate to prove that he belongs and he will not give up.
Gresham rakes eyes and does everything possible to try and cheat his win. Lykos Gym came back out. They stayed outside of the ring for a short while before.
Lykos Gym betrayed Gresham meaning he was stripped of the title and Gene Munny is now in SSS16. Lykos Gym got Gresham deliberately disqualified.
Lykos then cut a promo saying he was tired of having no direction and now that he has done this he has direction.
Gene wasn’t happy with that result as he wanted to beat Gresham. He took on Lykos and beat him after Gresham took out the other Lykos. Dragging him backstage.
Gene Munny officially qualified for SSS16 and that was the end of Chapter 134. I thought it was a great show and leading into SSS16 I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
