THE BIGGEST night in Impact Wrestling is upon us and it’s set to be one heck of a night!

Ahead of the wildest night on the Impact calendar we’ve taken a deep dive back through Slammiversary history to find the BritWres stars you may not remember took part in matches at the PPV.

Which of these matches was your favourite?

Doug Williams

The BritWres legend has competed at two Slammiversaries - both more than a decade ago.

At Slammiversay VIII, under the slightly longer name Douglas Williams, he defeated Brian Kendrick to retain the TNA X Division Championship.

Then in tag team action a year later he suffered a defeat to Gun Money (Alex Shelley and James Storm w/ Bobby Roode) alongside his tag team partner, the next man on this list…

Nick Aldis

The current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship was also a regular in Impact (then TNA) a decade ago.

At Slammiversary IX he teamed with Doug Williams as The British Invasion, under the ring name Magnus. They came up short against Gun Money, but it wouldn’t be the last time he appeared at the PPV.

At the 11th iteration of the show he teamed with Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe - what a team by the way! - against Aces and Eights (Garett Bischoff, Mr Anderson and Wes Brisco).

The year after he went solo at Slammiversary in a cracking match, this time against Jeff Hardy as his Willow persona.

Nigel McGuinness

One of the biggest names in British wrestling, and current colour commentator for NXT UK, has had his fair share of matches in Impact - under the name Desmond Wolfe.

Wolfe took on Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match but came up short in the contest which was just over ten minutes long.

Grado

We all love Grado, right? Nobody can resist a boogie when he makes his way to the ring - just ask the fans at Slammiversary 2016.

Unfortunately, his silky moves weren’t enough to see he and tag partner Mahabali Shera come out victories against The Tribunal (Baron Dax and Basile Baraka).

But he wasn’t the only surprising BritWres name to compete at Slammiversary in 2016.

Mark Andrews, under the moniker Mandrews, technically didn’t appear on the Slammiversary card in 2016 but he did appear in a dark match - so we decided to count it.

In a short seven minute contest the former PROGRESS champion and current NXT UK star beat Paredyse.

Another NXT signing, currently performing under the name Drake Maverick, didn’t have a match himself at Slammiversary XII but he was on the card.

The popular BritWres star accompanied Ethan Carter III to the ring, along with Dixie Carter, in a winning effort against Bully Ray in a Texas Death Match.

Drew Galloway

The former ICW champion had quite the run in TNA after leaving WWE for the first time, before his second run in America.

But at Slammiversary 2015 it didn’t go as planned for the Scotsman. He lost the five-man King of the Mountain match for the vacant TNA King of the Mountain championship.

The contest pitted him against the likes of Bobby Roode, Matt Hardy, Eric Young and eventual winner Jeff Jarrett.

Wonder what happened to Drew after that…

Robbie T

The Welshman has made two appearances at the PPV, one loss and ones as a ringside guest.

At Slammiversary X he teamed with Robbie E against the team of Garett Bischoff and Devon (FKA D Von Dudley).

Two years later he was ringside, as The Freak, to support Crazzy Steve. Unfortunately Steve came out on the losing end of a ladder match for the TNA X Division championship. The match included Manik, Tigre Uno, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards and New Japan legend Sanada.

Slammiversary 2021 takes place on Saturday, July 17. It starts at 1am, Sunday, July 18, UK time.
