British Wrestling stars to watch in 2023

It’s a new year and plenty to look forward to in the world of wrestling. Every year we take a look at the rising stars to keep your eye on in the upcoming year, and so far we think we’ve done a pretty good job! Take a look at the previous year here.

So with that in mind, these are the upcoming stars we think will steal the spotlight in 2023.

The Playboy Prince of Professional Wrestling had a brilliant 2022, he’s the Wrestle Island champion and his stock is only going to go up. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him claim even more gold this year and face some big, BIG, names!

Beau Belles

I reckon that by the end of the year we’ll all be listening closely to the great Belles of Beau. She’s really come on leaps and bounds and I’m sure she’ll be wrestling at bigger promotions in the next 12 months.

The Maverick of British wrestling has been on the rise in 2022 and, by his own admission on our podcast, he’s got some big and exciting plans for 2023 that we definitely think you’ll want to see.

Leon Slater

This one seems a little redundant because in the time since last year’s article Leon has already become a sensation not just in the UK but in America as well. Expect to see him continue his global domination this year!

Safire Reed

The rising star of south east London, Safire has been slowly working her way up the ranks of women’s divisions across the south. She even earned herself a spot at WrestleQueendom 5 last year to culminate a great 2022. Expect her stock to rise even higher this year.

Maya Matthews

Another rising star with the world at her feet, Maya has been killing it at RevPro in the past 12 months and is even endorsed by the wonderful Alex Windsor. We expect Maya and Safire to be running the scene in the next few years!

Dynamite Lee Dawson

Someone else we can envisage running the scene in the not to distant future is Dynamite Lee Dawson. Dawson ended the year by picking up the FutureShock Adrenaline Championship - proof that he’s a rising gem in the extremely talented northern scene.

Amira

Her work by the side of Michael Oku in RevPro has helped thrust Amira into a bigger spotlight, but her solo work has also improved immensely in 2022. She’s earned herself spots in promotions both at home and abroad and picked up the Vortex Wrestling title, we can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

Tate Mayfairs

Tateness is Greatness, at least that’s what the man himself proclaims. He’s taken promotions like PROGRESS and Resurgence by storm and though we all hate him we can’t deny he’s got all the making of a top quality star.

The Ava White

Ava’s in ring work has really reached a good place in 2022, she even earned a spot on NJPW’s stacked Royal Quest UK show. She’s going from strength to strength and will be a force to be reckoned with in 2023.

Rayne Leverkusen

I’m a huge fan of Rayne, and not just for her love of Iron Maiden. She’s had an incredible year - picking up a couple of belts at the back end of 2022 and making her debut in Pro Wrestling: EVE. She’s gonna own 2023.
